Classification and Mechanism of Action
Tiova Inhaler contains Tiotropium as the active medicine. It is a bronchodilator belonging to the group of long acting anticholinergics. It has an anticholinergic effect and it antagonizes the action of acetylcholine. Acetylcholine causes spasm of the airway by interacting with the muscarinic receptors on the wall.
