Description

What is Ropark?

Ropark is primarily an antiparkinsonian agent prescribed to treat Parkinson’s disease. It is also approved for the treatment of Ekbom syndrome or restless leg syndrome. This medicine is also effective in treating movement disorders like extrapyramidal effects that occur due to side effects of drugs like metoclopramide or SSRIs.

Classification and Mode of Action

Ropark contains Ropinirole which is a non-ergoline dopamine agonist. The symptoms of Parkinson’s and other movement disorders arise due to the deficiency of the neurochemical dopamine. Ropark is a dopamine agonist and it binds to the dopamine receptors and mimics the action of dopamine.
