Zanamivir (Generic Relenza)
Zanamivir (Relenza) is a generic name for Zanamivir. It is an antiviral medication to block the action of the virus in the human body. It is used to treat symptoms caused due to influenza. The medication is only used to treat slue symptoms of influenza and not the common cold.

How to take the medication?
Zanamivir should be used as it is prescribed by the doctor. Follow the directions given on the prescription label. The medication must not be taken in smaller or larger amounts than recommended.
Relenza comes in a disk-shaped package with 4 blisters of medicines. Follow the instructions given on the DISKHALER. Do not use ventilator or nebulizer to give Relenza. The inhalation powder should not be mixed with a liquid.
The recommended dosage is 10 mg given to the patients with 2 inhalations.
Use 2 inhalations to treat flu symptoms after every 12 hours for a period of 5 days.
To prevent the symptoms of flue, use 2 inhalations after every 24 hours a day for a period of 10 to 28 days.
Emergency help must be taken in case of an overdose.
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Do not take the missed dose if you remember to take it before 2 hours of the next dose.
