Neodecadron Eye Drops

This medicine contains two active ingredients 0,1% of dexamethasone (corticosteroid- reduces the inflammation.) and 0,35% of neomycin (antibiotic- prevents the growth of bacteria). These medicines are prescribed and used for the reduction of inflammation (swelling, redness, and watery eyes) and for the prevention of bacterial infections of the eye.

Is Dexamethason-Neomycin and suitable for me?

Dexamethason-Neomycin and is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

• if you are allergic to dexamethasone, neomycin or other ingredients of this medicine
• if you have a mycobacterial, fungal, or viral eye infection

In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:

o   have a disorder causing a thinning of the eye tissues

o   have allergic reaction

o   wear contact lenses

o   have diabetes, glaucoma or increased eye pressure

o   are pregnant or breastfeeding

Dexamethason-Neomycin interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Dexamethason-Neomycin?

This medicine is available in form of eye drops.

You should take Dexamethason-Neomycin exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

• The usual starting dose is 1 or 2 drops 6 times a day.

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not miss any doses and take the medicine at the same time each day. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.

What are Dexamethason-Neomycin side effects?

Like all medicines Dexamethason-Neomycin can cause side effects, including:

Common:

• burning or stinging in the eye
• irritation
• itching
• redness
• swelling

Uncommon:

• cataracts (clouding of the eye lens)
• increased eye pressure
• blurred vision
• sensitivity to light
• eye pain
• increased tear production
• perforation of the eyeball
