This medicine contains the active ingredient nystatin which belongs to a group of medicines called anti-fungal agents. These medicines are used to treat and prevent fungal and yeast infections by invading the affected areas of the skin and killing the fungi or impeding their growth. Nystatin cream is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of the local fungal infection (candidiasis) in the corners of the lips, oral mucosa, intestine, the space between the fingers, nails, anorectal area and the outer ear, and in the prevention (prophylaxis) of candidiasis in infants as well as for long-term treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics and immunosuppressive agents.
Is Nystatin Cream suitable for me?
Nystatin is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it
- If you have an allergy (hypersensitivity) to nystatin, or any other ingredient of this medicine
This preparation is not for ophthalmic use.
Nystatin interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Nystatin Cream?
This medicine is available in form of ointment.
You should take nystatin exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.
- You should apply the ointment 2 to 3 times a day at the infected skin area.
Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.
