Malegra FXT (Sildenafil + Fluoxetine)

What is Malegra FXT?

This is a combination medicine which is used for the problems of sexual dysfunction in males. It is prescribed for impotence that is a failure to have an erection, erectile dysfunction which is an inability to maintain an erection and premature ejaculation.

Class and Mechanism of Action

The two medicines in Malegra fxt are Sildenafil and Fluoxetine. Sildenafil belongs to the group of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. It inhibits PDE5 and its inhibiting action results in a release of increased cGMP in the Corpus Cavernosum of the penis. This increased levels of cGMP helps in relaxing the smooth muscles of the blood vessels supplying the male organ and improves blood flow.

Fluoxetine belongs to the group of SSRI inhibitors. It inhibits the serotonin reuptake, and increases its amount in the blood. This increases its action at the post-synaptic cleft and helps prevent premature ejaculation.

Store it at room temperatures and away from moisture and heat.

How to take the medication?

Take it by mouth at least 30 minutes prior to a sexual activity.

Warnings and Precautions
