Aceclofenac is an anti-inflammatory drug used for the relief of inflammation in ankyslosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis and also osteoarthritis. The non-steroidal drug is an analog of Diclofenac.
How does it work?
Aceclofenac seizes the action of cyclo-oxygenase; a substance in the body, which is responsible for causing swelling, inflammation and pain, hence relieving the body from these factors.

Aceclofenac is a cytokine inhibitor.
Contraindications for the drug
The drug should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity, severe ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Following measures must be ensured to maintain the purpose of the drug:
- Protect from heat and light.
- Avoid any exposure to moisture and store the drug in a dry place in an airtight container.
- Avoid frequent intake of this drug.
- Do not break the tablet.
How to take the drug
Aceclofenac is available in the tablet shape. It may be taken orally, along with food.
The recommended dosage of the drug is twice daily. Take one tablet of 100mg in the morning and another of the same specification in the evening.
If a dose has been missed, you can take the moment you remember it. However, if it’s almost time for the next dose, do not take the missed one. You should not take two doses together as a compensation of the missed dose.
Over dosage of Aceclofenac can cause the human body to face the following symptoms:

When to take the drug?
Aceclofenac should be taken right after a meal. You should eat a snack otherwise before taking the drug to avoid indigestion and to protect your stomach from any possible side effects.
How long should you take the drug?
Depending upon your health needs, your doctor will prescribe a time span for the usage. If the drug is to be used for a long time, the doctor might prescribe some other medications as well to be used with Aceclofenac.

The drug should be cautiously used with patients who are presently suffering from or once suffered from:

- During pregnancy
- Blood clotting problems
- Crohn’s disease
- Systemic lupus erythematous
- Elderly people
The drug should not be used before driving or any other technical and mechanical work since it causes drowsiness and dizziness.
