What is Budecort inhaler?
Budecort inhaler contains an anti-inflammatory medicine which is used to manage allergic and inflammatory problems of the respiratory tract. It helps relieve swelling and obstruction of the breathing tract thus manages wheeze, cough, chest tightness and difficulty in breathing.
Classification and Mechanism of Action
Budecort inhaler contains Budesonide as the main drug. It belongs to the group of corticosteroids. It inhibits inflammatory process in the airways and lungs by blocking the action of inflammatory chemicals and cells in the blood. It also blocks the mediators of inflammation like histamine, leukotrienes etc.
Looking after your drug
Store it in a cool and dry place and in an airtight container. Keep it away from the reach of children.
How to take the medication?
Take the inhalation puffs as advised by your asthma nurse or doctor.
Dosage
The recommended dose is 200-400 mcg/day in divided doses. Consult your doctor for your dose.
Overdose
Talk to your doctor.
Missed Dose
Take it when you remember it. If it is time for the next dose then skip it. Do not double dose.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not take this medicine if you have any active infection. Clean the canister as advised in the insert. If your condition worsens after using the inhaler then seek medical help immediately. Do not modify your dose or stop inhaler on your own.
