What is this drug?
Xtane 25 mg is prescribed for treating breast cancer in post-menopausal women. It contains Exemestane which has an anti-estrogenic activity and is used breast cancer cases which have not responded to other drugs.
Classification and Mechanism of Action
Exemestane belongs to the class of aromatase inhibitors. Aromatase is an enzyme which is required for the synthesis of estrogen. This estrogen is utilized by cancer cells for its growth. Xtane binds to the estrogen receptors of the cancer cells inhibiting biosynthesis and reuptake of the hormone thereby hampering the growth of the tumor.

How to take Xtane 25 mg?
Take it orally at the same time every day. Swallow the tablet whole

Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next dose. If not then take it as soon as you remember. Do not double dose to cover up for the missed dose.
