Active ingredient: Tamoxifen
Product Code: PR10616
Availability:
Generic Nolvadex is a drug that acts as an anti-estrogen. It is used as endocrine treatment in cases of hormone receptor-positive cases of breast cancer. In addition to breast cancer, it is sometimes used in treatment of McCune-Albright syndrome, infertility, gynecomastia, bipolar disorder, angiogenesis and several other diseases. Still, it has been FDA-approved for cancer treatment, which remains its primary purpose.
Classification and Mechanism of Action
The active ingredient of Generic Nolvadex is tamoxifen, which acts as an antagonist of the estrogen receptors in the breasts, while in other tissues, e.g. endometrium, it acts as an agonist, which makes it a mixed agonist/antagonist. Some types of breast cancer cells require estrogen to grow. Tamoxifen binds itself to the estrogen receptors in those cells without activating them, preventing estrogen from binding to their receptors. This blocks the growth of breast cancer cells.
Looking after it
Generic Nolvadex should be stored at room temperature, in a dry and dark place, away from the reach of children.
