What is Tacroz Forte Ointment?

Tacroz Forte Ointment contains Tacrolimus as the generic drug and is prescribed for eczema or atopic dermatitis. It is used for short-term treatment of moderate to severe eczema which has not responded to any other treatments.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Tacrolimus belongs to the class of immunosuppressant and it suppresses the immune response by binding to certain receptors in the blood which are crucial to the production of cytokines through the calcineurin pathway. Inhibition of this pathway impedes the activation of T-cells which are responsible for the inflammatory response.
