What is this drug?
Adaclene Gel is an antiacne medicine which is for topical application. It is helpful in the regeneration of skin. It contains a retinoid-like compound which is similar to vitamin-A. It is also available in the market as differin gel.
Classification and Mechanism of Action
Adaclene Gel contains Adapalene 3% i.e., 3mg/g of the gel. It is a retinoid-like compound. It binds to specific retinoid receptors and normalizes the epithelial cell differentiation in the skin. This causes a decrease in micro comedones formation. It also inhibits differentiation of keratinocyte. Together it shows exfoliating as well as anti-inflammatory effects.
Looking after your drug
Store it in a cool and dry place away from the reach of children. Keep it capped and avoid contamination of the nozzle.
How to take the medication?
Wash the area with a mild soap. Apply a thin layer of gel over the acne once in a day, preferably in evening.
A thin layer is applied over the entire face and other affected areas once a day.
Consult your doctor right away.
If it is time for your next dose then skip the missed dose or else take it as soon as you remember. Do not double dose.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not apply on abrasions, cuts, sunburned, chapped or eczematous skin. Avoid waxing, sunlamps and harsh skin products. Talk to your doctor if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible Side Effects

· Redness, irritation or dryness of the area
· Worsening of acne
