Mintop Forte Foam (Minoxidil)

What is this drug?

Mintrop forte foam is meant for male pattern baldness, common male baldness and hereditary hair loss and strengthening thinning hair. It is not meant for females and to treat hair loss due to any other cause. It is more effective in treating baldness in men who are under 40 years of age and in recent hair loss.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Mintrop forte foam contains Minoxidil which is a vasodilator. It dilates the blood vessels supplying to the hair follicles. This increases the supply of nutrients to the hair follicles. It is also stipulated that it directly stimulates the epithelial cells of the hair follicles thus causing regrowth of hair.

Looking after your drug

Keep it capped when not in use. It is flammable so store it in a cool place away from heat and light.

How to take Mintrop forte foam?

Apply half a cap of medicine to the area of baldness twice in a day. Keep two applications at least 8 hours apart.

Dosage

Half a capful twice in a day.

Overdose

Consult your doctor right away.

Missed Dose

If it is time for your next dose then skip the missed dose or else take it as soon as you remember. Do not double dose. Keep two applications at least 8 hours apart.

Warnings and Precautions

Don’t use this medicine in hair loss due to any other problems. Do not use if you are under 18 years of age. It is not meant for hair loss in females.

Possible Side Effects

·       Headache, dizziness

·       Irregular heartbeat

·       Itching, redness, burning or stinging at application site

·       Chest pain

·       Unusual weight gain

·       Difficulty breathing

When Mintrop forte foam should not be used?

If the scalp is red, inflamed or infected, Allergy to the medicine

How long should you take the drug?

As long as prescribed.
