Benoquin Cream 20 Gram

What is this drug?

Benoquin Cream 20 gram contains Monobenzone as the generic drug which is a skin depigmentation agent prescribed in Vitiligo. It is used to destroy melanin pigments in the normal skin surrounding the white patches in vitiligo. The destroying of the pigments in the natural skin makes the skin color more even.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Monobenzone is a hydroquinone which occurs as a tasteless, white crystalline powder. It acts by producing free radicals in the skin which kills the remaining melanocytes. It also inhibits an enzyme called tyrosine which is responsible for producing melanin.

Store it in its pack in a cool and dry place and away from the reach of children.

How to take Benoquin Cream 20 gram?

Apply a thin layer to the normal skin area 2-3 times a day or as prescribed.

Dosage

Apply a thin layer 2-3 times in a day. Consult a doctor before starting this drug.

Overdose

Wash with plenty of water and consult your doctor right away.

Missed Dose

If it is time for your next dose then skip the missed dose or else take it as soon as you remember.

Warnings and Precautions

It’s not a cosmetic. Do not use for any kind of other skin discoloration problems.

Possible Side Effects

·       Slight burning of skin

·       Skin irritation

·       Redness of cracking of the skin

·       Peeling of the treated skin

Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient in the cream.
