Description

What is this drug?

Coversyl plus is a combination of two medicines. One is an antihypertensive and the other is a diuretic or water pill. It is prescribed to treat mild to moderate blood pressure.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Coversyl plus contains Perindopril arginine and Indapamide hemihydrate as active ingredients. Perindopril is an antihypertensive belonging to the class of ACE inhibitors. Indapamide is a chlorosulphamoyl diuretic. Perindopril inhibits the angiotensin converting enzyme and relaxes the blood vessels which improves circulation and reduces B.P. Indapamide reduces blood pressure by reducing salt and water absorption and increasing urine output.
