Dosage

Adult and children dose

The initial dose of Glimepiride for adults and children is 1 to 2 mg per day. The maintenance dose is 1 to 4 mg per day. Both adults and children may take a maximum dose of 8 mg per day.

Geriatric Dose

The initial dose is 1 g per day. The maintenance is 1 to 4 mg per day.

Overdose

Missed dose

Never take a missed dose together with the scheduled dose. You must take the missed dose as soon as you remember. The doctors advise the patients to avoid taking the missed dose when it’s time for the next dose of Glimepiride.

  • The drug may cause hypoglycemia. The patient must be able to recognize the symptoms of hypoglycemia.
  • The patients may also report hypersensitivity reactions
