Description

What is this drug?

Rhinocort Nasal spray is used to manage seasonal as well as perennial nasal allergies. It is used to manage allergic symptoms like sneezing, stuffy nose, and runny nose.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Rhinocort nasal spray contains Budesonide as the main drug. It is a corticosteroid. It inhibits inflammation by blocking the action of many inflammatory substances and cells in the blood. It also blocks the mediators of inflammation like histamine, leukotrienes etc.

Looking after your drug

Store it in a cool and dry place away from the reach of children. Keep it capped when not in use.

How to take the medication?

Blow your nose before use. Gently shake the bottle, insert the nozzle into the nostril and squeeze the spray. Use it in both nostrils.

Dosage

The usual dose is 1-2 sprays in both the nostrils once or twice in a day.

Overdose

Consult your doctor right away.

Missed Dose

If it is time for your next dose then skip the missed dose or else take it as soon as you remember. Do not double dose.

Warnings and Precautions

Use it in the nose only. Avoid accidental spraying in the eyes. Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma or cataract, liver disease, herpes simplex infection of your eyes.

·       Pain, irritation, burning, swelling in the nose or throat

·       Sores or white patches inside the nose
