5 Sermion (Nicergoline) is an antagonist at the alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. By inhibiting the vasoconstrictive effects of epinephrine and norepinephrine, it mainly causes the dilatation of blood vessels in order to increase flow of blood in vessels. It also increases the level of acetylcholine in cholinergic synapses. It also inhibits platelet aggregation.
