What is this drug?

Claritin D is an anti-allergy drug used for seasonal and perennial allergies, hay fever, skin hives and rashes and all the problems arising due to histamine action in the body. Some of its other brand names are Alavert, Clear-Atadine, ohm Allergy Relief, Dimetapp ND.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Claritin D contains Loratadine which is an antihistamine belonging to the class of peripheral histamine agonist. Loratadine acts on the H1 receptors in the periphery and blocks the action of histamine on these receptors. This reduces the symptoms of allergies.
