Why is this medication prescribed?
Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR), is used to treat depression and social anxiety disorder.
Venlafaxine is in a class of medications called antidepressants. It works by increasing certain types of
activity in the brain.
How should this medicine be used?
Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR) should be taken once a day with food,
at approximately the same time
each day. Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew, split, or crush them.
What side effects can this medication cause?
While taking Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR), some
people may experience :- nausea
- dizziness
- sleepiness
- delayed
- ejaculation
- sweating
- dry mouth
- nervousness
- insomnia
- anorexia
- constipation
- raise blood pressure
- impair
judgment/thinking/motor skills
What special precautions should I follow?
Before taking Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR),
- Tell your doctor about any
medicines you are taking, including all kind of drugs and herbal
supplements.
- Do not take Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR) in conjunction with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI).
- Discontinue any MAOI’s for at least 14 days before you start taking Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR).
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planing to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Venlor XR (Generic Effexor XR), call your
doctor immediately.
