Why is this medication prescribed?
Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) is used to treat schizophrenia in adults, psychotic disorders and symptoms
such as delusions, hallucinations, and hostility.
How should this medicine be used?
It is usually
taken two or three times a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label
carefully, and ask your doctor to explain any part you do not
understand. Take Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) exactly as directed. Do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor.
Do not stop taking Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) tablets without telling your doctor.
What side effects can this medication cause?
Although side effects from Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) are uncommon, they may
occur. Tell your doctor if any of these ide effects are severe or do not go away:
- drowsiness
- dizziness
- lightheadedness
- constipation
- stomach pain
- headache
- weight gain
- excessive weight gain
- runny nose
- dry mouth
- ear pain

- fever
- fast or irregular heartbeat
- muscle spasms
- tremors
- shuffling walk,

Before taking Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate),
- Tell your doctor if you are allergic to Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) or any

diabetes, liver or heart disease, or seizures.

- Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or
operate machinery until you know how Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate) will affect you.
- Avoid activities that will cause your body to overheat or
become dehydrated.
- You may have increases in your blood sugar
(hyperglycemia) while you are taking Seroquin (Quetiapine Fumarate), even if you do not
already have diabetes.
