Why is this medication prescribed? The
Nizoral cream is used to treat fungal infections of the skin such as
yeast infections. Once again, the active ingredient Ketoconazole
inhibits the ability fungal infection to replicate and
spread.
How should this medicine be used? The cream is applied by
placing a small amount on to affected area and gently rubbing it on
the skin. The cream is used once daily for 2 to 4 weeks until a few
days after the disappearance of all symptoms. If their is no
improvement of the symptoms after 4 weeks of use of either of these
medications you should be re-assessed by you doctor or medical
professional.
What side effects can this medication cause? Side effects
from using Nizoral are rare. However you may experience:
constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headaches, nausea,
vomiting. On rare occasions users of this medication have been known
to exhibit allergic reactions. If you experience symptoms such as
fever, chills, itching or a rash, you should discontinue use and
