Why is this medication prescribed?
Generic Effexor (Venlafaxine) is used to treat depression, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder.
Venlafaxine is an antidepressant of the serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) class. It works by increasing certain types of
activity in the brain. Venlafaxine Generic is antidepressant with a novel chemical structure. Venlafaxine has a structure that does not resemble those of any currently used antidepressants. Effexor is not a tricyclic antidepressant or an MAO inhibitor.
How Should Venlafaxine Generic be used?
Generic Venlafaxine should be taken once a day with food,
at approximately the same time
each day. Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew, split, or crush them.

What special precautions should I follow?

- Discontinue any MAOI’s for at least 14 days before you start taking Generic Effexor.

breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Generic Effexor (Venlafaxine), call your
doctor immediately.
