Why is this medication prescribed?
Generic Nimotop (Nimodip) is used to treat symptoms
resulting from a ruptured blood vessel in the brain (hemorrhage). It
increases the blood flow to the injured brain tissue.
How should this medicine be used?
It should be taken on an empty stomach, either two hours after food or one
hour before food.
What side effects can this medication cause?
Uncommon side effects include:
- headaches
- feeling dizzy
- swelling of the
face, eyes, lips, or legs
- hot flashes
- heartburn
- fast heartbeat
- irregular heartbeat
- depression
- unusual bruising or bleeding
- stomach upset
- constipation
If you have any difficulty breathing
or swallowing, feel faint, or experience a
skin rash, turn to your doctor immediately.
What special precautions should I follow?
- Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit while
