Why is this medication prescribed? Generic Combivent is a combination of ipratropium and albuterol, a bronchodilator, it is used
with other bronchodilators to prevent shortness of breath, wheezing, and
troubled breathing caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It relaxes and opens the air passages to the lungs, making it more easy to
breathe.
How should this medicine be used?
Generic Combivent Inhaler (Duolin inhaler) comes with patient directions. Read them carefully before using Duolin inhaler. If you do not understand the directions or you are not sure how to use the inhaler, ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how to use it.
What side effects can this medication cause? The Side effects from Generic Combivent include:
- headaches
- tremors
- dizziness
- cough or runny nose
- upset stomach
- leg cramps
- palpitations
- dry mouth
- bitter taste
- hypokalaemia

rarely, urinary retention.
What special precautions should I follow? Do
not use Generic Combivent if you are allergic to or get a strange response to peanuts or soy
products. Do not mix
other breathing drugs with Duolin inhaler unless told to do so by your
doctor.
Before using Duolin inhaler,
- tell your
doctor if you are taking water
pill, like Lasix (Furosemide).
- tell your doctor if you have a too active thyroid, high
blood pressure, seizure or heart disease.
- tell your
doctor if you are taking Drugs for colds or for breathing problems.
- tell your
doctor if you are taking a beta-blocker.
