What is this drug?

Levothroid is used for replacing naturally occurring thyroid hormone when its levels are low. It may occur due to diminished thyroid function or destruction of the gland due to radiation, surgery, injury etc.

Levothroid contains Levothyroxine which is a synthetic thyroid hormone. When taken orally it actively replaces thyroid hormone and brings it to normal levels after some time.
