Generic Plendil is a prescription drug which is used to manage high blood pressure. Its generic name is Felodipine and it is also marketed as Renedil.

Classification and Mechanism of Action

Generic Plendil belongs to a class of drugs known as calcium channel blockers. When blocking these channels, the blood vessels are widened, which leads to an easier passage of blood through the veins and arteries and thus reduces blood pressure.

More serious side effects include chest pains, pain spreading to the arm, sweating, tingly or numb feeling, pounding or fast heartbeats, shortness of breath, swelling in feet and hands, fainting feeling.
