Why is this medication prescribed?
Gountnil (Colchicine) relieves pain and swelling caused by attacks of
gouty arthritis. It may also be taken regularly to prevent gouty
arthritis attacks.
How should this medicine be used?
Your doctor will decide the correct
dosage for your condition. Take Gountnil (Colchicine) exactly as
directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed
by your doctor. If you stop taking it too soon, your attacks may return or can get
worse. Take this medicine with food.
What side effects can this medication cause?
The most common side
effects of Gountnil (Colchicine) include:- nausea

- diarrhea
- vomiting
- it can damage the bone marrow causing severe anemia and
may seriously low the white blood counts, which increase the risk of
infections.

What special precautions should I follow?
