Why is this medication prescribed?
Ginette (Generic Diane-35ED) is an oral contraceptive for
women that can also be used for the control of idiopathic
hirsutism (unwanted hair growth) and acne.
How should this medicine be used?
You should take one tablet a day.
In the first cycle of using Ginette (Generic Diane-35ED) , you should take the first tablet on
the first day of menstrual bleeding. Continue to take each tablet
through out the 28 day cycle. Take a new pack one day after
completing the previous pack.
Ginette (Generic Diane-35ED) tablet can be taken with food to reduce the feeling of nausea.
If you miss a dose don't take 2 tablets the next
day, continue taking one tablet and take extra prophylactic contraceptive precautions for the next 2 weeks.
What side effects can this medication cause?
The side effects include:
- breast tenderness, enlargement
- change in libido
- changes in menstrual flow
- depressive moods
- feeling dizzy
- weight gain
- abdominal cramping
- alteration in hair growth
- skin reactions
- anemia
- nausea

What special precautions should I follow?
- Do not take Ginette (Generic Diane-35ED) if you are
pregnant or think you might be pregnant. Taking a hormonal
contraceptive during pregnancy can cause deformities in babies.

gynecologist and have a full physical examination before using the
Ginette (Generic Diane-35ED) contraceptive pill.
- There is an increased risk of
cervical cancer through taking oral contraceptives, although it is
also believed other factors may be involved.
- Women who have a history of diabetes, hypertension, high
cholesterol should have regular physical examinations with their
doctor while taking Ginette (Generic Diane-35ED) .
