Why is this medication prescribed?
Generic Protonix is used to treat These can be caused in part by too much

How should this medicine be used?
It is usually taken once or twice a day with or without food.
Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your
doctor to explain any part you do not understand. Take
Generic Protonix exactly as directed. Do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor.
What side effects can this medication cause?
Tell your doctor if any
of these side effects are severe or do not go away:
- diarrhea
- headache
- a skin rash
- stomach pain
- hot flushes
- difficulty in swallowing or breathing
- gas or bloating
- dry mouth
- shortness of breath
What special precautions should I follow?
Before taking Generic Protonix,
- Tell your doctor what
medications you are
taking, especially the following: ampicillin;
ketoconazole; and products containing iron.
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Generic Protonix or any
other medications.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Generic Protonix, call your
doctor.
