Why is this medication prescribed?
Amlopres (Generic Norvasc) is used s to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain (angina).
It lowers the blood pressure by widening the blood vessels, making it easier for your heart to pump.
It controls chest pain by increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to your heart.
How should this medicine be used?
It is usually taken once a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully.
Take Amlopres (Generic Norvasc) exactly as directed. Do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor.
What side effects can this medication cause?
Amlopres (Generic Norvasc) may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of
these symptoms do not go away:
- flushing
- excessive tiredness
- dizziness
- swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
- upset stomach
The following symptoms are
uncommon, but if you experience any of them, call your doctor immediately:
- rapid, or irregular heartbeat
- more frequent or more severe chest pain
What special precautions should I follow?
Before taking Amlopres (Generic Norvasc) ,
- tell your doctor if you have or have ever had liver
disease or heart failure.
- tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Amlopres (Generic Norvasc) , tell your
doctor.
- tell your doctor if you are allergic to Amlopres (Generic Norvasc) or any
other medications.
- tell your doctor about all kind of medications you are
