Dutagen Information
Dutagen (Generic Avodart) is used to treat an enlarged prostate.
This is when the prostate is enlarged in men and causes urinating problems.
Dutasteride is similar to Finasteride with the way that it inhibits DHT.
It works by blocking the production of a
natural substance that enlarges the prostate. This shrinks the enlarged prostate over time and brings relief
from the symptoms commonly associated with BPH. Dutagen has also been
shown to have beneficial effects on hairloss.
Dutagen Intake GuidelinesIt is usually
taken once a day with or without food. Take Dutagen exactly as directed. Do not take
more or less than prescribed by your doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water
and swallow the capsules whole. Do not chew, split crush or split the capsules.
Dutagen Side Effects
The most common side effects of Dutagen (Generic Avodart) include:
- difficulty ejaculating
- impotence
- a decrease in sex drive
- breast enlargement or tenderness
- a decrease in the amount of semen released during sex.

Dutagen Warnings

- Women who are or who may become pregnant must not handle Dutagen (Generic Avodart) capsules. The medication can be absorbed through the skin and may cause birth defects in the unborn baby.
- Do not donate blood until at least 6 months have passed since you stop taking Dutagen (Generic Avodart) to prevent pregnant women from receiving Dutagen (Generic Avodart) through blood transfusion.
- tell your doctor if you have or have ever had prostate
cancer or liver disease.
