Why is this medication prescribed?
Phexin (Generic Durantel DS) is used for the treatment of
bacterial infections of the respiratory tract such as
middle ear, bones, pneumonia, reproductive, skin and urinary systems.
Phexin (Generic Durantel DS) is only effective against certain
types of bacteria. It is ineffective against viral infections such as colds
and influenza.
How should this medicine be used?
The correct dosage of Phexin (Generic Durantel DS) will depend
on the condition you are being treated for.
Use Phexin (Generic Durantel DS) as directed by your
doctor. Do not more or less than prescribed by your
doctor. Do not stop taking Phexin (Generic Durantel DS) unless you have consulted your
doctor first.
What side effects can this medication cause?
The side effects may include: - upset stomach

- itching
- hives
- breathing difficulties

What special precautions should I follow?

other cephalosporin antibiotic such as cefadroxil or cephradine, penicillin, or any other drugs.

('blood thinners') such as warfarin (Coumadin), probenecid, and vitamins.
- Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had liver or kidney disease,
stomach problems, or colitis.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Phexin (Generic Durantel DS), call your
doctor.
