Why is this medication prescribed? Beclate Inhaler (Generic Qvar) is helping to prevent the symptoms of asthma. When used
every day, inhalation corticosteroids decrease the number and severity
of asthma attacks.
Beclate Inhaler (Generic Qvar) work by preventing certain cells in the
breathing passages and in the lungs from releasing substances that cause asthma symptoms.
How should this medicine be used?
The dose should be different for different patients.
Mild asthma (usually Adults and new patients): 100 to 200 mcg daily in divided doses.
Moderate asthma: 200 to 400 mcg daily in divided doses.
Severe asthma: 400 to 800 mcg daily in divided doses.
What side effects can this medication cause?
More common:
- cough
- hoarseness
- headache
- sore throat
- dry throat
- dry mouth
What special precautions should I follow?
Tell your doctor if
- An asthma attack doesn't improve after using a
bronchodilator medicine (Beclate Inhaler).
- You are exposed to viral infections, such as chickenpox.
- If your condition gets worse or doesn't improve.
- There are Signs of infection, especially in your lung, mouth or
throat.
- tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or if you are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using Beclate Inhaler (Generic Qvar) , tell your doctor immediately.
